    3D Printed Solar Bytes Pavilion

Brian Peters of DesignLabWorkshop uses 3D printing to create his architectural studies, and the latest of his projects, the Solar Bytes Pavilion, is essentially a building which functions as a recording device and plays back a transcription of the environmental conditions of a given day's solar activity using LED lights, sensors, and photovoltaics. The pavilion grew out of project Peters completed which created the design for 3D printed "bricks" which can be snapped together to build a structure. Below is a photo of the Solar Bytes Pavilion. Probably one of the more incredible integrations of electronics and 3D printing I have seen, t least in a structure this large. Should be interesting to see how fast electronics and 3D printing begin to converge, especially after seeing Voxel8 at CES this year.

Brian Peter's ceramic Building Bytes interest us. They appear to be extruded. We have architect clients making amazingly detailed "bricks" with ceramic powder-based 3D printing.
