ultimaker 2 extruder on makerfarm i3v
Has anyone tried to incorporate the style of filament feeder / extruder used on the ultimaker 2 on the makerfarm i3v
I like how they dont have the motors directly with the hotend.. reducing the weight.. making running dual extruders seems even better
any reason why the i3v couldnt be converted?

Its called a bowden setup. It has been done.

I've tried using a bowden extruder on my i3v. I didn't see any performance increases, but I did see quality decrease. I don't think it's worth it, unless you use the bowden for your support filament, not the main part.
