Today the European Space Agency has announced their own plans to send a 3D Printer to the International Space Station in the first half of 2015, called the Portable On-Board Printer (POP3D). The printer which will use PLA filament, and FFF technology will measure 25cm cubed. The plan is to have the printer fabricate various objects and then send those objects back to Earth for additional testing and experimentation.
