I now have an XYZprinting Da Vinci printer and the quality of the printer is good but the software is appalling. Their latest firmware upgrade made the print quality go from bad to unuseable. If you get one get ready to throw away a lot of plastic. The printer in its current form and firmware is absolutely useless unless you are a hacker and then it is just bad. Their slicer is the worst piece of software in the 3D universe. Look at youtube and see what some guys have to do to get even a so so print out of it. The people that like it have very little experience with 3D printers I suspect.

Might be worth swapping out the electronics (board) with one that's open source... kills many birds with one stone. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult, may need to replace the LCD as well, so for about $100 it'd raise its potential quite a bit.
