Texas Instruments Announced 2 New DLP Chipsets for 3D Printing

Today, Texas Instruments -- a company perhaps best known for their ubiquitous graphing calculators -- introduced their new high-resolution DLP chipsets for 3D printing, 3D machine vision, and lithography applications. The chipsets are used within DLP projectors, which are key components in stereolithography-based 3D printers. The newly announced products include two digital micromirror devices (DMDs) and a controller to program each chipset. The DLP 9000 and DLP6500 DMDs and DLPC9000 controller could have a huge impact on the 3D printing space due to their extremely high resolutions and affordable pricing structure.
