Ben Greer set out to create a single pixel digital camera capable of capturing images in color. He spent well over a year working out the engineering aspects for this creation. During this time, he drove his 3D printer to what he termed “an undignified death” and upgraded to a better model. After a great deal of continued experimentation, he managed to design the camera body to be printed in eight parts. Then, after assembling the camera and generating the coding necessary for it to function, he used it to successfully capture color images on a single pixel.
