Whilst the central exam might not be impressive, it must be remembered that not all projects are led by aesthetics. In this instance the main concerns and restraints were time, budget and versatility. It was the intention here to work quickly to produce a working sketch model, with limited funds.

Originaly drawn attached to a base, this was removed, as it reduced the printing bill by a 1/3, and also dramatically cut down on the over all print time. Budget and time, are factors are often not considered, and are an important aspect in 3d printing, particularly for those just engaging in the medium.

The Central beam, also allows gave us the option to reuse the models in a secondary more mechanical project, with out having to create or print a 2nd set.

Now the project has been realised and completed, we have been able to obtain more funds and print time, to look at a more refind project.

Yes Geoff, but again with the consideration towards cost and build time, the supports where built around the figures being horizontal / on their side, thus reducing the over all build height.
