3D Print Market
Hi,
Am quite new to the 3D print market and I am looking for ideas on how one could go on to develope a 3d print service aimed at the protoype market. I know theres a few large scale players but I think there may be room for addtional service providers who maybe can be in a specialist area.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who may be able to assist me, or if you guys have any thoughts as to what would be a dood 3D print market to get into

I would recommend taking at least a few months to just learn about the industry because jumping into an idea. Things are changing so fast, you may find yourself investing in a business only to be an outdated business in a year. Just my thoughts.

Hi, it sounds like you are trying to run before you can walk, you need to do some research to see what you are even capable of providing then attempt to find a niche in the market that can utilize those skills.
The one bit of advice I can give you as someone who has made some small success at it, you are going to need more than 1 printer. As soon as you have multiple clients, you will need to be pumping out different prototypes in different materials and often at the same time. I had no budget and no kickstarter so I just started with one machine and said to myself when it pays for itself, I'll build a new one, and when that's built, I will print parts to make another one, which I did, so instead of only 20 hours printing in a day from one machine (i give them a rest for a few hours now...) I can print 60 hours worth of printing in one day.
