After the landing gear on a AV-8B Harrier Aircraft failed, and the pilot had to make an incredible vertical landing aboard an aircraft carrier, technicians were forced with trying to repair the broken nose gear. To do so, they utilized 3D printing to create the tools needed for the repair. The process took week less and cost a lot less than what it would have taken to proceed with the repair using traditional methods.
