We have seen over the last year, several instances where museums are scanning their various artifacts in order to then print them out and allow those attending to actually touch replicas of such artifacts. One Museum in the UK, the Kendal Museum, is taking this a step further. They are allowing attendees to touch their replica artifacts, and in some cases, especially with children, take them home. The new initiative allows them to give those attending a hands on experience with the artifacts, often extremely valuable from ancient Egypt. More details on just what they are doing can be found here: http://3dprint.com/9723/egypt-3d-print-museums/

Would such interaction make you go to museums more often? Opinions?
