Entire Rocket Engine Has Been 3D Printed

Aerojet Rocketdyne has done something quite unbelievable. They have 3D printed an entire working rocket engine in just 3 pieces. The engine which the company calls the 'Baby Banton' is capable of 5,000 pounds of thrust. By using additive manufacturing, Aerojet Rocketdyne has saved about 65% on costs, while cutting down the time it takes for design and manufacturing from one year to a couple of months.
