I find this very amusing. Apparently the Da Vinci 3D printers have been jailbroken to accept other types of filament other than their own filament cartridges. I knew that it was only going to be a matter of time. Do you think that 3D printer manufacturers will continue to use ways of restricting only their own filament on 3D printers or do you think that this will be a lesson? 3D printer enthusiasts are mostly people of the "hacker" type, meaning they will always be able to come up with ways to work around restrictions.
