Creaform Launches 2 New Go!SCAN 3D Scanners

The 3D scanning company Creaform has just announced the release of two new 3D scanners. The scanners include the Go!SCAN 20 and the Go!SCAN 50. Both scanners are extremely accurate and easy to use. A typical scan takes less than 5 minutes, and you can start scanning within two minutes of turning the devices on. Here are some general specs of each scanner

Go!SCAN 50:
Scanner Resolution: 0.500
Scanner Accuracy: 0.050 mm
Depth Field: 250 mm
Recommended Size of Scanned objects: 0.3 – 3 meters

Go!SCAN 20:
Scanner Resolution: 0.200
Scanner Accuracy: 0.100 mm
Depth Field: 100 mm
Recommended Size of Scanned objects: 0.05 – 0.5 meters

When we get to know the price picture it may be interesting to start a discussion about these scanners...

I'm guessing several thousand dollars, if not tens of thousands of dollars.

They'll be way over $10k if the first scanner is to go by.

and the final result will still look nowhere like the original object

I think the 3D scanners still have a little ways to go, I still am not happy enough with the results from the mid to low range (or what I can afford ) so I sit here... patiently...

I only played with this one a couple times. Last years model actually. Easy to use.
A mid range price point when compared to the FARO scanners.
Sort of similar to a Kinect / Skanect hardware, software combination in how the user interface looks and works.
Makes darn good, accurate models and then has an easy to use clean up software.
A good tool for a medium to large 3D business. A hobbyist will have a hard time justifying the cost.
