the Full colour XYZprinting Da Vinci Color - An interesting Tech development
So at the TCT show at the NEC (Birmingham, UK) this year one of the interesting developments was by XYZprinting. They have just launched their Da Vinci Color.
This is a kind of combination CMYK inkjet and FDM 3D printer. It uses an special type of filament that absorbs ink from their CMYK inkjet cartridges. As the printer prints it is able to print out this "conventional" ink onto the pla so that you can produce full colour prints.
It is quite impressive and gets around having to have multiple filaments. It's not quite a Polyjet but it is a very good alternative method of getting full colour prints.

Yep got some pics I'll upload.
The colours aren't always totally solid, but it's the only full coloured printer at the under £3000 price point.
Also a pretty decent print volume.
Couple it with the new 'scanner in a box' desktop scanner and you've got a full colour 3d copier for around £5000

We are quite excited about this one. Lots of purists look down on XYZprinting but they do try and produce maker solutions and people have a good experience with them. They have their 3 in 1 range with an in built be scanner and the ability to add a laser engraver.
So we say hats off to xyzprinting they are being innovative.
We took a picture of their mask:
