    I notice that at the start of the video he talks about using the bed-leveling function of the machine. That sounds like it is a feature of the firmware. If you are using Marlin firmware, then there is a new version which a has a bed leveling routine. You have to fit some other components.

    I found the card a bit thick, it had my nozzles off the print bed. I use an 86gsm piece of A4 paper, seems to be good for high res calibration.

    I too use paper instead of card to get the right bed height. I find card too thick, although a lot is dependent on your layer height.
