The military has been interested in 3D printing for some time now. Its potential for in field use and the cost savings it provides are obvious benefits. Recently, however, experimentation has begun which explores the possibilities the technology holds for the creation of custom munitions. The idea being that with 3D printing it may be possible to create more specifically tailored blasts that better serve the needs of a particular explosion.
