There’s more big news on the printing front today as HP Inc. announces they will be completing an acquisition of Samsung Electronics Co Ltd. within the next twelve months, bearing a price tag of $1.05 billion. Coming on the heels of the GE announcement last week that they will be acquiring both Arcam and SLM Solutions, this means there is clearly some extremely positive and forward movement within both the 2D and 3D industries. With HP’s acquisition of Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, they will be in possession of an electronics portfolio that includes A3 MFPs, streamlining the printers of today; intellectual property featuring over 6,500 patents; human resources offering over 1,500 employees who are engineers and researchers; as well as the partnership with Canon, which has been growing for over 30 years.
