ORNL Improving 3D Printing on the Nanoscale
ORNL has come up with an improved way to 3D print on the nanoscale, employing their FEBID technique, but with some changes that allow for more high-fidelity fabrication. With this new system, the researchers are combining both design and construction into one act, streamlining the fabrication of complex nanostructures. Their simulation-guided drafting process allows for a host of new opportunities in such 3D printing and nanomanufacturing, and is outlined in the researchers’ paper, ‘Simulation-Guided 3D Nanomanufacturing via Focused Electron Beam Induced Deposition.'
