The Tucson, Arizona-based disruptive space innovator Vector Space Systems recently announced the successful test launch of their P-20 Rocket, which was equipped with single-piece injector that was produced via 3D printing technology. The launch was done in partnership with the Finland-based satellite imagery systems developer Iceye, and proved the functionality of the 3D printed injector, as well as their unique high performance engine, which runs on a propellant combination of liquid oxygen and densified propylene. With the recent success of the P-20 launch, Vector Space Systems is on track for their first-ever orbital launch, which is planned for 2018.
