Virtual reality has reached a new level outside of gaming, allowing viewers at the Sundance Film Festival to don some rather surreal pod and grass encased Oculus Rift devices so that they could experience being in the forest as a total of four different British animal species, with the most interesting being that of a bat. Echolocation was mimicked with a device attached to a pole and adorned with a 3D printed bat ear that amplifies the sound for ‘The Eyes of the Animal’ from Marshmallow Laser Feast. The VR experience will now travel to South Korea, Belgium, and Japan, having also just completed the Bluedot Festival. Read more at
