Early-stage startup Additive Orthopaedics is dedicated to the development of 3D printed orthopedic devices specifically for the extremities, and their first product, a digital fusion implant, has just been given 510(k) clearance from the FDA. Digital fusion, which is sometimes required in toe surgery, occasionally requires a pin or implant to stabilize the bone while it heals.
