This summer MakerBot seeks to get together educators and/or makers over the age of 18, with some exposure to 3D printing technologies, to brainstorm together on 3D printing content based on STEAM education goals. There will be five Makeathons held at different location throughout the summer -- in New York City, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Denver -- in the hopes of appealing to a large and diverse group or participants. Makers will have a chance to network, meet and make with like-minded people, and design 3D printing education activities and lessons to be used in classrooms. You can also win prizes, like MakerBot Printers, filament, and accessories, and your $50 participation fee goes to funding 3D printers at low-income schools.
