For over a decade, Richard Kapuaala has dedicated his time to fashioning a replica of an Oahu Railway and Land Company railroad, which operated on the Hawaiian Islands until 1947. A most recent challenge has been to replicate the ornate railing present on the train's Coach 64. Choosing to use 3D design and printing to capture the required microscopic detail of the railings, he turned to his steady companion on this journey, Shapeways, and was not disappointed.
