Vicky Somma’s enthusiasm for 3D printing is infectious--just ask her husband, if you don’t believe us. We’ve followed work from both, equally fun and impressive. Now, Vicky is showing off her 3D printed aviary, a collection of multi-colored birds which she was able to fabricate on her single extruder MakerGear M2. She learned how to do this via a friend who inspired her to use Simplify3D to manipulate options and settings so she could stop and start printing in time to change filament colors. She is now selling her designs on Etsy, and advises novices to keep track of what they are doing in terms of successes and failures, but to have fun above all, and not get too upset when prints don’t work out the first time.
