A team of young college students from India’s Hindustan University in Chennai has done an impressive job of representing their country and university, with a recent win in the Aerial Robotics Competition, held last month in Beijing at Beihang University. In Mission 7, they were challenged with building a drone that could autonomously navigate its way around robots on the ground, avoiding collision with them. A big part of their success--resulting in the Best Sheepherder Award--was due to 3D printing of the drone parts, leading to a lightweight construction. Not just any 3D printer either--they made the drone parts on a printer they made themselves. Read more at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/112609/aerial-robotics-competition/
