3D Printing Helps Us Realize What Jesus May Have Really Looked Like
In most works of art, Jesus Christ is depicted as a tall, thin man with light skin and long hair - a bit odd when you think about his Middle Eastern origins. Now, however, a forensic anthropologist has produced what is possibly the most accurate image of Jesus yet. Richard Neave gathered data using a range of methods, including 3D modeling, to recreate the face of a man from Jesus' time and location, and most experts agree that it's much closer to the truth than most classical works of art. Firstly, Paul never met Jesus (who was really called Joshua, but Paul re-branded him to give him a Greek name which was more acceptable to the Roman), so his views on long hair on men could have been at odds with those of the man he professed to follow.
Secondly, the authorship of several of the writings attributed to Paul is disputed. So depending on where that quote came from, it could have been written by someone else entirely.
