3D Printed Gold Shoes For a Former Olympian

3D printing and fashion were the topic for part of a featured segment on The Gadget Show in England. To educate viewers on 3D printing and show off a bit too, producers hired designer Julian Hakes and famous prototyping company Ogle, to help make a stunning pair of shoes for Amy Williams, the English former Olympian and gold medalist who is also a presenter on the show. Hakes and the team at Ogle created an incredibly good looking pair of shoes with a 3D printed heel made of durable nylon and an upper featuring the traditional leather. not just a gold medallist - gold medallist at the WINTER olympics !
From a country that shuts down if we get half an inch of snow :-)
And has no bobsleigh tracks for her to actually practice on !
She's the one who went down the bob sleigh track on a lunch tray :-)
They call it a skeleton bob - but it's really a food tray ;-)

learther upper ? so not 100% 3d printed then. Shame.
