Workshops for Warriors is a program designed to help train veterans in SOLIDWORKS, so they can pursue a career in the growing advanced manufacturing sector. According to its founders Hernan and Rachel Luis y Prado, the program has been able to maintain 100% employment of all of its 194 graduates after completion of either of the two SOLIDWORKS certification programs (Associates or Professional). This kind of job training is getting attention from corporate donors, and the Luis y Prados are launching a capital campaign to raise $15 million for an advanced manufacturing center in San Diego. The other idea is to expand these workshops across the US, offering veterans new employment options and filling some of the vacant positions in this sector due to lack of training.
