In 1973, the Cleveland Museum of Art acquired a sixth-century statue of the Hindu deity Krishna. Several pieces were missing from the statue, including its left hand. Recently, thanks to 3D scanning and printing technology, the museum was able to determine that a large fragment previously thought to belong to a similar statue in Cambodia does, in fact, match the Cleveland statue. A full restoration, also aided by 3D technology, will begin shortly. Read more details at 3DPrint.com: http://3dprint.com/104437/identify-sculptural-fragment/
