    Theft of 22 Polar 3D Printers

    In the wee hours on a Saturday last August, thieves smashed in the doors of the Polar 3D headquarters in Cincinnati and executed a streamlined plan to take all 22 Polar 3D printers in the warehouse, while leaving behind every single MakerBot. Once they’d cleaned up the mess, the team at Polar 3D was inspired and amused enough to mark the event with a "Be Smart!" promotion for users and educational organizations, offering $100 off to anyone who brings in a MakerBot extruder, taking the retail price of their 3D printer purchase down to $699.
