Intellectual property lawyer and 3D printing evangelist John Hornick spoke at this week's Inside 3D Printing Conference Santa Clara about what he feels the impact 3D printing technology will have on the world of copyrights and trademarks. Hornick says that we used to be a society of makers, but not we are a society of buyers and that 3D printing technology will change us back to what we once were. He also suggested that intellectual property would effectively cease to exist for products and instead IP would be the domain of infrastructure, ideas and the raw materials used to create things.
