Nike's COO, Eric Sprunk, revealed in a GeekWire Summit conversation that the company is gearing up to incorporate 3D printing technology, so that it is not left behind. He envisions a near future, where Nike still owns the IP (brand) but a customer has the opportunity to either 3D print shoes from home or in the stores. This declaration begs the question that as 3D printing becomes more affordable and accessible to everyday people, will these same people still be interested in purchasing brand name files for printing?
