Mcor 3D Prints President Obama Out of Paper

Mcor Technologies was not about to just sit back and watch, without reply, as the Smithsonian was responsible for performing an official 3D scan and subsequent monochrome 3D printed bust of the President. The team knew they could do a much better job with an Mcor color 3D printer, which uses the layering of standard copy paper to produce substantial, quality, economical--and eco-friendly prints. Not just talk, they showed what they mean with a much more impressive 3D printed, full color model of President Obama. Neat idea. I would have chosen a more intelligent subject to duplicate though.

    the mcor printers are interesting.

But it's actually subtractive rather than additive manufacturing. You do throw away a lot of the base material (paper).

They are excellent for full colour solids.
