    3D Printed Wooden Wrist Watch

India's Fracktal Works, the manufacturer of the Snowflake and Julia 3D printers, has recently introduced a new open source design available on Thingiverse that showcases their printers' capabilities and the fun that can be had with wood filament. For their booth at 3Dprint UAE last week, the team from Fracktal Works put their spool of colorFabb's woodFill filament to use in a fun, surprisingly fast-to-print project: a wooden wristwatch. Designer Kewal Chand Swami used Solidworks to design the watch, which prints in just 2:30 hours, including 20 links and the entire watch body. The watch uses parts from an old analog watch to function. Read more about the design here: http://3dprint.com/91147/wooded-3d-printed-watch/

    Add Wolfie on Thingiverse
Did anyone else here immediately think "Tinker Toys" when they saw the pic? It immediately reminded me of the wood hubs.

I think this might make a neat print for the kids. Have to find a scaled down internal works though.
