    Awesome 3D Printed Kites

Inspired by the Thingiverse 'Catch the Wind' Challenge, the love of the Legend of Zelda, and flying kites, German product design student Sergej Bekauv decided to create a 3D printed Triforce kite. Drawing out the design on paper and prototyping a few iterations before coming across a 3D printed parametric hinge design on Thingiverse by Benjamin Morgan, Bekauv designed 27 frame parts using Rhino software. After about 2-3 days of print time on his CTC 3D printer and then glued together and assembled with a sailcloth, Bekauv now has a fully functional kite that changes shape delightfully--and he's made the files available for download on Thingiverse. I do like the way it folds flat :-)
    Very neat.
