Steadiness is critical in high-end photography, but often comes at a price. California-based inventor David Johnson's new creation, the SteadyShot Bot, uses 3D printing to create a 3-axis stabilized controller to take a stable photo or video. Johnson will be making the models and components open source, releasing files to the public for download and 3D printing on any FDM 3D printer. Johnson is pre-selling his SteadyShot Bot on Kickstarter, starting at $1,099 for an unassembled kit, as he seeks to raise $310K by September 12th.
