Researchers at AMRC have successfully 3D printed a flash drive with electronics embedded into it, using a 3D Systems Projet 6000 SLA 3D printer. As far as we know this is the first time this has been done with electronics and SLA printing. The process provides for a lot of potential for encasing electronics within the medical fields and other manufacturing fields as well. It can keep dust and water from getting into the houses for the electronics and also removes a step in the manufacturing process.
