Venture capitalist Evonik, along with several other supporters contributing, has given Wiivv Wearables an undisclosed sum so they can proceed with mass production of their 3D printed insoles. The insoles will in the near future sport sensors that can record data helpful in analyzing movement for both sports and predicting fatigue in industry workers. Made of polyamide 12 conveniently provided by Evonik, the insoles are easily made after consumers send several mobile photos of the feet. A 3D file can then be created, allowing for easy customization, and expedient 3D printing. With 3D printing of the insoles, the design process is cut from several hours to several minutes.
