V-MODA is now offering headphones which are personalized with 3D printed "shields" that can be made from raw metals such as stainless steel or precious metals like 14k white gold and platinum. The company says they're the "World’s First 3D Printed Custom Metal” headphones and shields. CEO Val Kolton calls it a fusion of jewel-grade 3D printing and consumer electronics. He adds that the original designs were sculpted in V-MODA’s design studio in Milan, and that the inspiration for the product came from a trip he took to Ibiza to check out the DJ culture there.
