When Wolff Olins wanted a better company-wide recycling program, employee Franc Falco, who has been developing his 3D design skills, came to the rescue with his MakerBot Replicator 2 and design instincts. Inspired by Italian bins he had seen with models of the cans, bottles, and cups to be recycled in a given container, Falco set about designing similar models to denote the company's bins. His designs--created using the Lathe NURBS feature in Cinema C4D, sliced in Makerware, and 3D printed using white PLA from Faberdashery--came out clearly and will surely help the company's recycling initiative. He has made the files available on Thingiverse for others who would like to up their recycling game.
