A Little 3D Printed Weather Widget For Your Desktop
If you do business on an international scale from your home desktop, then Swiss maker Stefan Ries has just the device for you. It sounds pretty simplistic, but his Desktop Widget will keep you updated on the time and weather conditions in the location of your choice. The small, sleek-looking device links to Wi-Fi and is programmed to report weather conditions and time every 10 minutes. The design for 3D printed case that houses the electronics was inspired by the 1960s and ‘70s German industrial design aesthetic, so in addition to being useful, it’s a visually striking addition to your desktop. Check out more about it in the full article: http://3dprint.com/72069/3d-printed-desktop-widget/

Hi Forum
I wrote the software that Brian used in such a beautiful way in his 3d printing project. I wanted to let you know that I created an improved version that displays several different attributes on side scrolling frames. It is now based on the ESP8266 Arduino IDE and performs much better than the initial LUA based version. It can also display much more information. You can find a video and a link to the source code here: http://blog.squix.ch/2015/06/esp8266...n-v2-code.html
It is open sourced and I hope I will get a lot of suggestions for improvement...
Cheers,
Daniel

Display up side down
Hi Dani
Ablolutely fantastic!
The video shows that the pictures would be upside down if you let it run in the desktop widget.
Is it possible to fix that?
Thanks a lot for sharing this code
