Thanks. The printer uses something called "ABSplus thermoplastic". Does Acetone vapour help in this case?

yep should be fine.
drop bassna a pm - he doe s a lot of vapour smoothing and will steer you straight time and equipment wise.

I just tried XTC-3D. It's a 2-part coating you paint on the part in a very thin coat. It's a self-leveling filler that dries clear. Here's a very quick, test spot I did. You can see some remnants of the lines because I didn't go for complete coverage, just a quick test.

I like this because I don't have to heat a volatile liquid, or even heat anything. It works on any material, and is very cost-effective.
