Italian 3D printing company, 3DiTALY is putting Italy on the map of emerging markets in this rapidly burgeoning industry. In late April, one of 3DiTALY’s founders, Antonio Alliva, and a design team presented Eggform, furniture produced in part with the use of 3D printing, at Milan Design Week. The objective of the Eggform project was to demonstrate how 3D scanning and printing techniques can be combined with traditional furniture design and manufacture ones to create high-quality pieces that speak to Italy’s long-standing reputation for expert and exquisite craftsmanship.
