Custom Control Concepts uses a fleet of 3D printers to create unique housings and mounting hardware for video screens, speakers systems and various control centers for some of the largest and jazziest private aircraft in the world. The President and CEO of the company, Bill Weaver, says his firm makes a wide range of plastic and metal components to allow them to build features, unique shapes and sizes of items in short production runs, often just a few objects and rarely more than a hundred, to build their classy interiors. Weaver says 3D printing means the company can speed the manufacturing process and stay on top of a "very fast moving prototyping environment."
