Biome 3D's Potato Based Filament Put to the Test

A 3D printing filament of bioplastic made from potatoes or starches called Biome3D is made in the northwest of Ireland by Biome Plastics. Biome Bioplastics have been engaged in creating a series of bioplastic breakthroughs like the first compostable coffee pods, and they develop bioplastics for the 3D printing sectoras well as plant-based plastics for applications from catering to electronics. Their goal is to challenge the position of oil-based plastics at the top of the market. They are also the developers of a biodegradable coffee pod, “a sustainable packaging alternative” for the $6.6 billion single-serve coffee pod market.
