Parson’s School of Design in Paris student Chankalun’s inexperience with 3D printing proved serendipitous when an untended MakerBot helped to enhance her sculpture, Pinocchio’s Thumb. The sculpture, which she modeled first using Rhino5, was inspired by her (now ex-) boyfriend’s infidelity. She submitted the artwork reFrag-Glitch, an art event co-sponsored by Parsons Paris and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Film, Video, New Media and Animation Department and held in Paris from March 19th to the 23rd.
