Istanbul-based DIYer, 3D printing enthusiast, and Instructables contributor Dr. Özkal Özsoy, aka Hobbyman, decided to save himself the potentially two-month-long wait of purchasing a cell phone charger online and instead made one himself. Using Solidworks, he created a 3D printed case for the battery comprised of three interlocking parts. Like many versions of the portable cell phone charger available in retail stores and online, Özsoy’s charger uses 4.2V 18650 Li-ion 600mAh rechargeable batteries.
