Adobe has released an awesome update for the 3D Printing community. The latest update to Photoshop CC is aimed towards those with 3D Printers. They announced late last night that they have not only added several tools geared towards the 3D community but have also teamed up with 2 of the biggest players in the 3D Printing arena, MakerBot, and Shapeways.

First off, the latest Photoshop update will allow you to take any 3DS, OBJ, STL, Collada or KMZ formatted file and send it right to the printer from the program. It has also added a very convenient warp tool which allows you to quickly and easily manipulate a 3D model, as well as work on several files at one.

The partnership with Stratasys's Makerbot line of printers allows Photoshop to natively print right to all Makerbot devices in a snap. The partnership with Shapeways will allow anyone working on a 3D model on Photoshop to quickly send the file to Shapeways where they can choose from the variety of printing options they offer.

This is another major win for the industry in general, but is something many saw coming from a mile away.
