3D printing allows for customization that can be used to both make and preserve memories. A woman, whose father-in-law had recently passed away, sought to create a one-of-a-kind urn to honor him. Based on a significant statue in his hometown -- Harlingen, the Netherlands -- the design was created thanks to 3D modeling and printing technology. Andy de Bruin, the woman's uncle, is an experienced 3D modeler. He created a detailed 3D model based on references she provided, but since he had sold his own 3D printer, he suggested his niece us 3DHubs to find a local printing hub to create the physical statue replica. Her chosen hub, Elwin's Hub, 3D printed the two pieces of the design on his Wanhao Duplicator 4x 3D printer in white ABS; she later painted it silver.
