The Tosoni Office Building in Verona, Italy, will be the recipient of 3D printed reflective panels that eliminate the need for overhead and location-specific lighting in interior spaces. Thanks to the efforts of a major, pan-European project called iNSPiRe, Austrian lighting technology company Bartenbach teamed up with Dutch company LUXeXceL, which creates 3D printed optics, to manufacture these multi-faceted, reflective components. Formerly prohibitively expensive to produce, the aesthetically beautiful optical components, or “luminaries," can be custom-designed using 3D modeling and then produced using additive manufacturing.
